Exploring opportunities

NYWC’s partnership is a proactive initiative that resulted from a strategic direction to sustain and grow the impact of NYWC programming and community set by their Board in 2013. An Exploring Partnership and Integration Opportunities Task Force made up of representatives of stakeholder groups was formed to guide the work and report to the Board.

After extensive consultation with stakeholders and experts in successful collaboration, the Task Force produced partnership criteria and “must haves” that were approved by the Board.

Weighing options

Expressions of interest from a wide range of agencies and several models of partnership were considered. A number of collaboration ideas that emerged from these explorations were analysed against the “must haves.” After partnership visioning exercises with a small number of contenders, the Task Force brought the final options to the Board for final discussion and a decision to move forward. The Board chose to move forward with the co-location and back-office service agreement partnership with The Learning Foundation (LEF) in January 2015. Efforts to develop a partnership agreement and implementation plan followed in February and March.
