Women’s Empowerment Series

The Women’s Empowerment Series is a set of  skill-building programs that focus on building women’s strengths and personal power to promote self-confidence and success in making positive changes. The series consists of three 9-week modules. Women will register for one program at a time and may take one, two or all of the programs in the series.

Part 1: Discovering Our Power

Participants will gain an understanding of difficult emotions and the effects they have on mental and physical well-being. They will identify personal strengths and coping strategies to draw upon during stressful situations and learn how to build self esteem and confidence. Using group discussions and interactive activities, group members will gain strength and knowledge to move forward while making connections with other women in a supportive environment.

Part 2: Exploring Our Potential

This group supports participants to gain knowledge of themselves by exploring strengths, skills and identity. They will examine their individual needs, priorities and options for making positive changes that improve their lives. Tasks and activities will allow space for each participant to have “me time”, while also encouraging women to share and learn from each other.

Part 3: Asserting Ourselves

Through this group women will consider how they interact with others. They will learn skills to effectively communicate and assert themselves, with the opportunity to practice these skills with each other in a safe and comfortable space. The group will help women learn about healthy relationships while also exploring how to deal with difficult relationships and social situations.
