NYWC in Toronto offers a free program to help women prepare for employment via workshops, resources and building work skills.

Women’s Empowerment Series 3: Asserting Ourselves

North York Women’s Centre’s free Women’s Empowerment group programs are designed to help you grow and create positive change. Each series includes group sessions led by skilled facilitators, independent learning and one-on-one support.

In this third part of the Women’s Empowerment Series, you’ll learn how to become more assertive and advocate for yourself. This group provides a safe and comfortable space to practice communication skills, such learning how to say “no.”

This free, in-person program begins on April 17 and runs until June 19 every Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sessions will take place at the Centre at 116 Industry Street.

Register today. We will be in touch to schedule an intake appointment. Intake appointments will take place between March 24 and April 11, 2025. If you missed the intake period, register for the next set of sessions or email programs@nywc.org to learn more.

Here’s what one participant had to say about the Women’s Empowerment Series:

“The group helped me when I was afraid to speak up. I’m gathering my supports to help me feel less isolated and anxious. There are a lot of good things about me that I don’t have to change, while I’m on my journey to healing and being better to myself.”
