Benefits of Being a NYWC Volunteer

NYWC volunteers love making a difference and appreciate the skills they gain along the way. Here’s what Elissa Podolsky, NYWC Board Chair, has to say:

“I was elected to the Board of Directors in 2017 and I am proud to say that I am still a part of the organization. As a volunteer Board member, I’ve been able to flex my skills through exposure to new situations, new opportunities and new challenges to solve. The bonus is working with a group of highly dynamic ladies committed to our cause of supporting women in our community.

One of the highlights of my NYWC tenure was the 30th anniversary celebration, which brought together participants who had been through NYWC programs that helped changed their lives, as well as long term members and donors and local politicians. I walked away from the event so proud to volunteer for an organization that has been and continues to be a cornerstone of support to women in our community for three decades! I remain committed to supporting NYWC and the important work we do, and I am thankful for the opportunity to serve.”
